My Philosophy

Building long-lasting and meaningful relationships with my clients and their pets is incredibly important to me. Every day, I strive to deliver the highest-quality veterinary medicine using modern techniques and technology. My sincere concern for the best interest of the animals I serve is apparent in my commitment to education for their owners. The entire Crestview Veterinary Clinic team shares the same core values and looks forward to serving pets and their owners in the Austin community for many years to come.

Dr. Marie Butcher

Dr. Butcher enjoys building lasting friendships with her clients and their 4-legged family members.  She strongly values practicing progressive veterinary medicine and is particularly interested in internal medicine, infectious disease, dentistry, and surgery.  She strongly believes that vet visits should be as stress free as possible and does everything she can to make your visit a pleasant one.  She is very excited to join the team at Crestview Vet Clinic!

Dr. Butcher grew up in New Orleans and moved to Austin in 2000 to attend the University of Texas. Through college, she worked as a researcher in animal behavior, studying cooperation in chimpanzees.  She graduated with honors from UT with degrees in Biology and Anthropology.  She then attended Cornell Veterinary School and worked as a student technician in the Intensive Care Unit and Community Practice Service.  She graduated cum laude from Cornell and returned to Austin where she has worked as a small animal practitioner since.  She enjoys going on hikes, playing music, and gardening.  She has one wonderful mutt named Sookie.
